With increased demands placed on industries for providing information on the safety of their products, and for ethical and financial reasons, QSARs have become a highly important supplement to animal testing in toxicity evaluation.
Furthermore, QSARs can be used at the very beginning of development, helping industries to design safer products.
One potential project could be to create toxicity profiles of chemical candidates for use in medical devices, for example plasticizers in plastic materials.
